Account Information
Name, email address, password (hashed — never stored in plain text), and account type (homeowner or contractor).
Phone Number
Phone number for account verification and optional SMS notifications. Phone numbers are verified via Twilio before use.
Home Address (Homeowners Only)
Your full property address is stored securely. Only your city is displayed publicly in job listings. Your full address is shared only with the contractor you formally award a job to.
Payment Information
Payment details are processed by Stripe. We never store full card numbers, CVVs, or bank account numbers on our servers. We store a payment method token and last-4-digits for display purposes only.
Project Information
Job descriptions, photos, budget ranges, timelines, and project categories that you provide when posting a job.
Communications
Messages exchanged between users on the platform, including text and file attachments.
Contractor Profile Data
CSLB license number, company name, years of experience, portfolio photos, certifications, and service areas.
Usage Data
Pages visited, features used, device type, browser, and IP address. This helps us improve the platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the platform and match homeowners with qualified contractors
- To verify your identity and phone number
- To process secure payments via Stripe
- To send notifications — in-app, email (via Resend), and SMS (via Twilio, if opted in)
- To power AI features — project description generation and bid assistance (project descriptions sent to Anthropic; no personal info included)
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and ensure platform safety
- To improve our matching algorithms and user experience
- To comply with legal obligations

5. Data Security
- All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — never stored in plain text
- Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant
- Photos and files are stored securely in Supabase Storage with access controls
- Database access is protected by row-level security (RLS) policies
- We conduct regular security reviews of our infrastructure
No system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by California law.
6. Your Rights (CCPA — California)
As a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know — Request what personal information we have collected about you
- Right to Delete — Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Right to Correct — Request correction of inaccurate information

9. Children’s Privacy
Home Bidders Hub is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at Support@homebiddershub.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. SMS Communications
- SMS notifications are opt-in only — you must explicitly enable them in your profile settings
- You may opt out at any time by toggling off SMS notifications in your profile, or by texting STOP to any message you receive
- Standard message and data rates may apply based on your carrier plan
- SMS delivery is powered by Twilio; their privacy policy applies to message processing
- We send SMS for platform events only (bids, payments, messages) — never for marketing
11. AI Features
Home Bidders Hub uses Anthropic’s Claude AI to power features including:
- AI-powered project description generation (available to all users)
- AI bid drafting assistance (available on Plus and Pro contractor plans)
What we send to Anthropic:
Only the text of your project description or bid message. We never send your name, address, phone number, payment information, or any other personally identifying information to AI services.
Anthropic’s Privacy Policy governs their processing of submitted text.
